Lynden Wa Has A New Children's Park

The Million Smiles Park located in Lynden, is the newest addition to the city park. At a cost of over $200,000, this park has been appropriately named! Your kids will think they are at Disneyland when they start playing on the wonderful slide, poles, bridges, and swings. No expense has been spared and hundreds of volunteers in Whatcom county made this possible...both by donating their time during assembly and in the form of financial gifts.

3 Lynden DI Teams Headed To Globals

Destination Imagination teams are an innovative and creative problem solving program in the Lynden Elementary school program. Teams of seven students choose one of five challenges to compete in, then they are responsible for all aspects of preparing and presenting their program.

This year Lynden produced 7 teams that qualified at the state level, and are headed to the global competition in Tennessee later this month. Never have so many teams from Lynden qualified for globals.

Teams prepare for the even by researching 6 different countries and their traditions. 30 minutes before the competition, they are given the name of the country they must use. During that time, they prepare a skit that illustrates that countries customs and traditions, incorporating three "senses".
